TY PAWB CREATIVE FOLK TALES

A Collaboration with Active Writing

In May last year I was approached by Peter of Active Writing to create a series of illustrations that would inspire children and families to create their own folk tales and art work based on the local area - Wrexham. The work went live in November.

"As part of Ty Pawb’s ‘Arts at Home’ initiative, we are offering an assignment called Creative Folktales. We’ve provided some guidance and a range of sources of inspiration: it’s over to you to write a new folk tale or fairy story set in or around Wrexham! You can find out more about Arts at Home and the full list of creative assignments here. We commissioned local artist Emma Ford to provide some inspirational illustrations for the project - see them in the project gallery. We also commissioned local storyteller Fiona Collins to record a Wrexham folk tale in Welsh."
