Interrogating an Object
This workshop was a lot of fun. I didn't like the painting that Lorna used for her demonstration, and after we saw the process behind making the painting I liked it even less.

The artist talked about the process of making the painting and the need to convey the feeling they had when looking at the flowers. The painting was done over a few months and I question whether the feeling towards the flowers changed over this time, and with every fresh bunch of flowers they used. It would have been more interesting to see the work progress as the flowers died, rather than the artist using fresh flowers. I think that would have had more impact on me personally and it would have been interesting to see how the layers illustrate the finite life of the flowers.

I loved the afternoon part of the workshop where we had to go out and find an object. A group of us went to the Museum (I'm ashamed to say it was the first time I have been in the Wrexham Museum, even though I live in town).
I chose a bronze age axe head (partly because it fits in with my work, but mostly because axes are cool)
