Drawing Sound Workshop with Katie

This was a really interesting workshop with Katie, it's a long way removed from what I normally do, but it was also really interesting. She had us listening to sounds and drawing what we hear, or I guess what they make us feel.

This first one was a video of lots of annoying sounds and it made me so angry I couldn't think of anything to do but draw angry little faces.

This mess came from the sound of waves crashing on the beach. I really love the sound of the sea, but I don't think this drawing really portrays that.

This was fuelled by my utter hatred for the next video and sound that Katie played!

It came from the Nyan Cat video, which was a viral thing when I was in my teens or early twenties and it is the most annoying, irritating and enraging sound.

This drawing was done for three videos. The green lines were for one video, the black lines were the second video and the red bar was the third video, they were all sounds that used whistling, to varying degrees of annoyance. I can't really remember the firs two, I think one was a whistled version of Sound of Silence (and I really prefer Disturbed's version) The third one - the red bar was a really annoying referee whistle, being blown constantly.

Feminism

I feel like I need to make something clear... I do not consider myself a feminist. My experience of feminism hasn't really been positive and I am not jumping on the bandwagon of man shaming or shaming
