Designing a book cover
This was the final design for the cover.
I am really happy with this design, it illustrates the character and the setting of this chapter, but it is clean and simple. It brings in the colour of the leather bound book and the colours of the end pages.
Getting the book cover printed was an absolute nightmare! I went to the university library and had to confirm three times that the A1 size I originally asked for was indeed the size I wanted printing, then when it was printed the image was poor quality and not properly aligned due to the printed not being maintained or set up properly. It took three days for them to get it right, but I was pleased with the final outcome.
There were however many rejected designs:
I felt that these were too busy, or too confusing or even too boring. Some had the wrong titles and some were just ill conceived.
